The Different Types of Quilts
Explanations of the different types of quilts for the home and bedroom
There are many different types of quilts that you can get. These quilts can come in all different sizes and can be placed on your bed or on your wall, depending on what type of quilt it is. You can find a queen quilt, a twin quilt, etc. The most common types of quilts are traditional quilts, children's quilts, memory quilts, contemporary quilts, art quilts and patriotic quilts. Here are the descriptions of the different types of quilts.
Traditional Quilts: Traditional quilts are the quilts that you probably think of the most. They are often placed on the bed and have a classic design/pattern to them. The designs have usually been used throughout history and will most likely be the type of quilt you buy for your bed.
Children's Quilts: If you have any children, then you should get them a children's quilt. A children's quilt will go great for them and can withstand the roughness that a child may place upon it. It should be able to last for a while and withstand any wear and tear, making it perfect for a child.
Memory Quilts: Memory quilts are usually the types of quilts you think about when you think of a grandma making a quilt. These quilts have some sort of memento behind them and are usually given as a gift from a special event or ceremony. They are great for remembering any special occasion.
Contemporary Quilts: Contemporary quilts are typically referred to as art quilts. They are normally not placed on the bed and are usually placed on the wall. They have a unique or artistic pattern on them and will make your room more aesthetically pleasing.
Art Quilts: Art quilts are basically the same thing as contemporary quilts. They are placed on the wall instead of the bed and have some sort of artistic look to them.
Patriotic Quilts: Patriotic quilts are usually set out or purchased during times of war. They are a great way for showing one's patriotism to their home country. These types of quilts usually portray the home country's flag.
These six types of quilts are the most common quilts you will see. You can often find a queen quilt of these in any bedroom.
